Karen Ann Sciera (Regone)

–

Scottsville, New York

Karen Ann Sciera (Regone), a devoted servant of God and a beloved pillar of her family and community, entered eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on March 4, 1943, in LeRoy, New York, Karen lived a life defined by her unwavering Catholic faith and her boundless capacity to love others. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s, actively involved with the Rosary Society, Floral Committee, Eucharistic Ministry and Pre-Cana counseling.

Karen was truly "loved by all" because she saw the face of Christ in everyone she met. She worked as a hairdresser her entire life, providing in-home haircuts and styling services to elderly clients, shut-ins, and families. She found great joy in connecting with people. She enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, and crocheting. Her family and friends often benefited from the fruits of her labor. Her life was a living testament to her faith in God and her devotion to Mary Mother of God. Her rosary beads were rarely far from her hands. She possessed a rare grace that made everyone feel special, and loved, in her presence.

She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Teresa Regone, and her sister Rosemary O’Grady.
Her legacy of faith and kindness lives on through her family. She is survived by her husband Gerard; sister Barbara MacGregor; sister-in-law Gail Shellman; children, Justine D’Amico (Daniel), Christine Alaimo (Anthony) and Brian Sciera (Megan); cherished grandchildren, Hallie Mallonee (Jack), Hayden Sciera, and AJ Alaimo; nieces; nephews; cousins.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday, March 17th from 4PM to 7PM at J.H. Cameron Funeral Home, 26 Rochester St. Scottsville, New York.
Karen's Funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 18th 2026 at St. Martin de Porres Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 99 Main Street, Scottsville, New York. Interment to follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
