Obituary for
Elliott James Swart
Honeoye Falls: Age 92. Passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 peacefully surrounded by his family at the Jewish Home of Rochester. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Beatrice; daughter, Barbara and sisters, Clare and Alma. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Gray Swart of 64 years and his daughter, Linda Swart McGory (Thomas). Elliott is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Swart (Jean) and 3 granddaughters, Allison Kellner Yacci (Paul), Elizabeth Kellner and Jessica Kellner. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was a proud WWII Veteran who served with 82nd Airborne. He was named a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor for his meritorious service in the Battle of the Bulge with the 507th Paratrooper’s Infantry Operation of the 17th Airborne Division and was recipient of the Bronze Star. Elliott is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and retired from 30 years at Gleason Works. His family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care he received while living at the Jewish Home of Rochester.
Friends may call Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2-5 PM at the J.H. Cameron Funeral Home, 26 Rochester Street, Scottsville, where his Funeral Service will be held Monday, 10:30 A.M.
